School Angel is a foundation which is set up as a CIO or Charitable Incorporated Organisation. This allows our charity to operate in similar way to a business but with a simplified administration structure, so less red tape. Our foundation has been established for charitable purposes only for the public benefit. Our aim is to help school children throughout the UK achieve their potential with particular reference to helping disadvantaged pupils.
School Angel is a unique charity because it is now entirely self-funding for all of it's charitable activities and running costs. We receive no external grants or funds from either the government nor any other external body. This is in contrast to the vast majority of UK charities which rely on grant funding in order to function. We return 100% of every donation we generate from retailers to the recipient school. We are to the best of our knowledge, the most efficient charity currently operating in the UK.
School Angel does not have any business interests nor commercial elements and is run entirely by unpaid volunteers.
We do occasionally receive charitable donations from members of the public but this makes up less than 5% of the total revenues the charity generates. If we do receive any external donation then these are allocated 100% to our disadvantaged children's fund ie. if someone donates one pound to us then one pound's worth of help is delivered to a child who really needs it with zero reduction.

Every charity has a set of charitable aims (or objects) which set out a framework for what the charity has been established to do. The charity has a board of trustees whose job is it to make sure that the charity fulfils its obligations in making sure that it's charitable aims are met. Our charitable aims are listed here:
