School Angel is a unique charity, currently run entirely by volunteers who believe in it's ethos that every child deserves the best chance to achieve their potential whilst at school. The charity has been designed to run very efficiently with simple administration and minimal running costs so that every penny we receive helps the children who need it most.
This fundraising website is the antidote to all the much bigger 'fund raising' websites in the UK, it was built in a garden shed, requires minimal maintenance, is fully secure and generates at least three times as much money for schools as any of the alternatives offer.
School Angel is run as a true charity, ie. time and effort is given freely and no one involved with it makes any personal financial gain.

Meet The Team
Our Trustees
![]() Chris Cottam - Chair of Trustees & Founder
School Angel started off as a small idea for Chris but quickly evolved into a charity with real potential to shake up the way schools raise funds in the UK. Chris has lots of interests and has worked for many years as a Doctor in the NHS gaining extensive paediatric and General Practice expertise in one of the most socially deprived regions in the UK. He has always had a passion for innovation and IT and is delighted to have the opportunity to now take on a role in the voluntary sector. I take care of 99% + of all of the day to day running of School Angel. ''Since my wife, family and I, have all benefited so much from the UK education system I felt it really was time I put a little something back." ![]() Hannah Cottam - Trustee
Hannah is the youngest member of our team and after being a volunteer since the charity was first formed in 2013 has now become a Trustee. Hannah is currently at Birmingham University studying Law and French. When she is not busy with her studies, or helping the charity, she enjoys music, concerts and travel, especially train holidays. She speaks fluent French. |
![]() Jacqueline Cottam - Trustee - Director of Communications & HR

Jacqui is also chair of school governors for a local large primary school and has experience working for other local charities responsible for delivering maximum value for large national lottery grant funding projects. Jacqui is also a busy mum of four children, and having lived in France for four years has experienced both the UK and French educational systems first hand. ![]() Jack Cottam - Trustee
Jack is our newest member of the team, having joined in January 2020. He currently works as a Dentist in Newcastle Upon Tyne, with a special interest in Children’s Dentistry. Shortly he will be taking up a placement in the beautiful area of Brean Sands. 'I am really excited to get involved with School Angel. Chris has worked tremendously hard to build the charity and help support disadvantaged pupils across the UK. I really struggled at primary school. Fortunately, I received additional tuition. There are however many children who do not have this luxury. School Angel can support these pupils and give them the same opportunity that I had'. |
