How School Angel helps
School Angel is a UK registered charity which helps children in local communities through their schools in the UK. (Please note that School Angel does not support overseas schools and we are sorry but we will not respond to any request for help from a school which is not registered with the charity)
Every year we make discreet highly targeted interventions to help children who are disadvantaged do the best they can at school.
We fund a wide range of interventions, for example this might be a specialist iPad with software to help a disabled child communicate, or simply a new school PE kit to help a poor child fit in with their peers. Whatever we do, we make sure it is exactly what the child needs at the right time, guided by the teacher and with no fuss. Small help like this can make a big difference when you really need it.

There are two basic arms to the charity:
|
- Secondly we help disadvantaged children. These may be children who have a physical or mental disability or who are disadvantaged through social deprivation. Some of these children may be at mainstream schools, special needs schools or hospital schools. Uniquely, School Angel relies on individual teachers to identify children in their care who they feel would benefit from our assistance to fund a particular resource. This might range from discreetly funding a school trip for a child who could not otherwise attend, or getting extra tuition for a struggling child, through to funding a specialist piece of medical equipment to allow a child with a disability to attend a mainstream school. The range of help we provide is as broad as the disadvantage we identify. Find out more about our work for disadvantaged children here.
Many children's charities struggle to identify children who are disadvantaged often because parents / carers are reluctant to seek help or problems are hidden for a variety of reasons. This is where School Angel has a unique advantage, by working in schools with teachers who know their children best, we are able to identify disadvantaged children who would otherwise get missed. Once identified School Angel can help fund the appropriate resource, precisely where it is needed.
Our disadvantaged children's fund is provided by our dedicated shopping page and by the generous support of various grant awarding bodies. The charity works hard to ensure that all the funds we receive deliver the maximum benefit to those children who need them most.
